Album: The Very Thought of You

Nat King Cole. The Very Thought of You. Capitol SW1084, 1958. (on vinyl, from a thrift store)

It’s mostly unmemorable. All of Cole’s performances here are great, but the songs, while good, don’t stand out.  This is the second of three albums Cole did with Gordon Jenkins conducting/arranging a string orchestra; Jenkins’ arrangements on this one are okay as far as string orchestras go, but are much less interesting than the other two.

7/10 (Good).
