movies: what we watched in August

Here is a condensed version of my movie blog – everything we’ve watched over the past month. We spent most of the month on vacation, but still found time for a few movies.

in the theater:

The Other Guys, 2010. 7/10 (Good). I really hope Michael Keaton is making a comeback.

on video/online:

– [re-watched] Newsies, 1992. 1/10 (Eew get it away). I hate it so much.

– [re-watched] Red Dwarf: Series Two, 1988. 6/10 (Okay). None of the jokes are funny.

– [re-watched] The Hangover, 2009. 7/10 (Good). Maybe not as hilarious as the first time, but still good.

The Time Traveler’s Wife, 2009. 2/10 (Terrible). Horrible waste of time.

– [re-watched] The Ghost Writer, 2010. 7/10 (Good). A very high 7.

Street Angel, 1928. 6/10 (Okay). Ridiculous extremes of melodrama.

and from The Top 63 Marathon:

The Professional, 1994. 7/10 (Good). Don’t know what to make of it.

– [re-watched] Citizen Kane, 1941. 6/10 (Okay). I just don’t know why I’m supposed to care about this guy.

North by Northwest, 1959. 7/10 (Good). Remarkably similar to every mediocre action movie from the 80′s and 90′s.
