Otis Redding. The Dock of the Bay. Atco 780254-2, 1990(?) (originally released 1968). (on CD)
A seemingly random selection of tracks thrown together to fill out an album around the title track following Reddings’ death. Great songs, but a mess of an album. “Dock of the Bay” is before its time, sounding like 70s Motown – but who wants innovation when it means leaving behind Otis Redding’s sound?
