album: I Wished on the Moon

Mel Tormé. I Wished on the Moon. Metro M-532, 1965(?). (on vinyl, from a thrift store)

I don’t like Mel’s style at all, but a few tracks here manage to be great anyway thanks to the first-rate jazz ensemble that’s playing with him. Sadly, most of the album is dominated neither by Mel nor the band, but by a terrible, loungey choir of “background” singers.

3/10 (Bad).
